John Deere Exchange Engines / Reman
For construction machinery, feeder mixers and tractors
“Reman” is short for “remanufacturing”. In this process, used engines are overhauled by using a carefully devised standardized procedure and brought back up to the quality and performance standard of new engines.
Old engines are first carefully registered and in the next step completely disassembled so that all individual parts can be precisely inspected later. Next in the complex process the parts are thoroughly cleaned for precise inspection to assess their reusability. Parts and assemblies that are defective are sorted out and replaced. The quality of the replacement parts corresponds to the original quality of the original parts.
Reusable parts are reconditioned if necessary. After another cleaning and drying process, all parts are assembled to form the replacement engine. The fully assembled replacement engine is subjected to tests that are 100 % the same as those that new engines must successfully pass. Only after a successful test run are the exchange engines painted and are ready for sale, to go back to serving customers reliably and with another long service life!
